Sixx Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 Hey Ray!! Yeah man, my wife and I are thrift store geeks!! When ever we go, I'm always looking. Heck, my dad, now that he's been retired for a few years, goes to garage sales, a few auctions, and estate sales...I've got him looking for all kinds of things!! I've put him back to work!! LOL!!!!! He's found a few military models for me...still shrink wrapped...dirt cheap, like a couple bucks each!! Thanks my friend!!
jeffs396 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Derrick, I've scored several CHEAP damaged Franklin & Danbury mint 1/24 diecasts from eBay over the last year or so. Just search "damaged Franklin" or "broken Danbury" or the like, save the searches and you'll get DAILY emails with results...
AzTom Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 What kind of diecast are you looking for? "scratched & dented diecasts" covers a lot of items.
gray07 Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 What kind you want and size, i have 167 of them up for trade, all different sizes from 1/64 and up.
Sixx Posted January 28, 2013 Author Posted January 28, 2013 What kind you want and size, i have 167 of them up for trade, all different sizes from 1/64 and up. Thanks for the replies, I'm looking for decent 1/25th & 1/24th scales, prefer the "mints" , Danbury, Franklin. Things like the 37 Stude pickup, 41 Chevy pickup, odd-ball stuff. Scratched, missing some parts, dented etc...cheap. Hopefully with tires??!!
jerseyjunker1 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 i look for them to. i make them more scratched and dented than they were when i got 'em. i have also got a few danbury and franklin mint models that were listed as damaged and all they needed was a box and a good cleaning and maybe a small part thats an easy fix. those i don't junk. here is a couple that i recently got.
Sixx Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 I dig the wagon!!!! Years ago, I found a PERFECT Tucker at a garage sale...$10 !!!! All it needed was a good cleaning! It's the Franklin Mint, light blue...looks new now!!
AzTom Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I usually keep the high end junkers also, sorry. Great find on the Buick and Chevy.
blazefox Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 scratches are easy but dents he mettal is so thick on a diecast u cant really dent with out heat and pacience and a steady hand
