Kaleb Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Ok, so my first attempt is less than successful lol. More blue on my fingers, than on the headers. Now I have the ink for this but it balled up on my unless I put it on heavy. My blue was more successful, than the the others. Is there a trick to this stuff?
cobraman Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 Your using ink ? I think most folks use the Tamiya clear blue and yellow and orange.
Erik Smith Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I think you will need to explain a little more exactly what you are using and how you attempted to apply it. Just saying "I have the ink" doesn't let anybody know if you are using india ink, paint, or?...Also, are you airbrushing, paint brush?... As Ray stated, you can use Tamiya's clear paints or Alclad II's paints, labelled "Hot Metal".
Kaleb Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 The inks are liquitex, I brushed them on, but like I had mentioned it just balled up. I did however figure something out, once I smeared it with my finger it worked, and a little goes a very long way. Unless someone else has used them, I'm going to buy some rags tomorrow and try it that way.
gerdog Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I use a weathering set (Master D set ) by tamiya. I use it on motorcycle exhaust to show the chrome discoloration from heat. Works really well.
