tenboy69 Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 i have a aurora super scale funny car in the box that has never been put together does anyone know what it is worth ????
Draggon Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Up to a few hundred bucks. Check ebay. Some of the guys here are more familiar with this kit and might give better info. I see this is your first post. hang around with us for awhile!
Harry P. Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Check ebay. If it's been selling there, you'll know what people are willing to pay.
cobraman Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Those are great kits. I built the Pinto bodied version years ago when they first came out. For their time they were very detailed. Heck for even now they would be consided very well detailed. I have seen them on ebay go for 200 to 400 bucks.
Greg Myers Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 Check this history out http://www.straightlinemodeler.org/aurora.html
Mooneyzs Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 What I would love to have some of the old aurora 1/16th scale kits.
Greg Myers Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 "for their time they were very well detailed " ?
Ben Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 There has never been a series of drag related kits more detailed than the Aurora Racing scenes!!! I have every kit in the series except the full kits of the Vega and Pinto. They are on my must have list!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Greg Myers Posted February 3, 2013 Posted February 3, 2013 (edited) If ever a kit could be reverse engineered these would be it. Lost in a train wreck, fire, scraped. This could be resurrected. Supposedly kits have been reverse engineered, I have seen no evidence of this, the Casper's Undertaker was supposedly reverse engineered. But I have read it wasn't. So. . . 1972coronet Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Check this history out http://www.straightlinemodeler.org/aurora.html Thanks much for the link to that cool story , Greg ! I recall seeing the Aurora Racing Scenes kits when I was really young ( I was 4-5 years old in '74 / '75 ) . The local "high-end" department store carried them in their toy department . They looked absolutely huge to me ; and that realistic box art left me with the sensation that I could actually sit inside the completed car ! Of course , I would never know the pleasure of building one of these beauties ... One thing's for sure ; I didn't notice until now that these are snap-together !
