Car Crazy 81 Posted February 15, 2013 Posted February 15, 2013 (edited) Heres my latest project that im working on alongside my Grumpys Toy build. Revell did a great job with this kit even though most of the pieces are the old school Monogram issue. The downside of this kit is the inaccurate wheels & valve covers to correct that i'd used a set of wheels from a Revell 69 Baldwin/ Motion Corvette kit and the valve covers from a AMT 70 Baldwin/Motion Camaro even though the Camaro is a 1:25 scale close enough. Heres a couple of pics. Edited May 4, 2013 by Car Crazy 81
ironhyde2483 Posted February 16, 2013 Posted February 16, 2013 I love chevelles need to drop that front down some IMO
Car Crazy 81 Posted February 23, 2013 Author Posted February 23, 2013 (edited) The kits frame is a nice casting theres a couple of things that needed attention the crude molded-in so called coil springs & the copyrighting. So i'd drilled out the stubs that were supposedly coil springs and used my Dremel to burr out the copyrighting and filled in the burr marks with spot filler. I'd used a set of coil springs from a Monogram 64 GTO kit. Edited May 4, 2013 by Car Crazy 81
Car Crazy 81 Posted February 26, 2013 Author Posted February 26, 2013 (edited) The frame is in paint i'd used Premium Flat Black which is the best flat black i'd ever used found it at my local hardware store. Also i'd made the headliner out of medical tape its not the best but it will do. Edited May 4, 2013 by Car Crazy 81

Christopher J Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 It's looking good so far. I really like the idea of medical tape for the headliner!! Novel Idea. I may have to "borrow" that one....... That black on the chassis is pretty smooth looking. Are you going to add any more color or weathering?
Car Crazy 81 Posted April 22, 2013 Author Posted April 22, 2013 (edited) After three paint attempts i'd got it right this time the color is Testors Mystic Emerald and painted the underside of the hood, underneath the body & engine bay with Rust-Oleum "Textured" Black. Car Crazy 81 Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 I was originally gonna make this Baldwin/Motion Chevelle without the stripes but i'd went ahead and added the striping it was fun installing them.
IMPALA SS 427 Posted May 3, 2013 Posted May 3, 2013 I really like the colour and those rims are sweet.
stump Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Looking good there Rick. Love the colour actually, it suits very nicely. Great work with that decal too, it gave me "fits" getting it to work on my 69 Nova. You had me drawn in as soon as I saw the MOTION in the topic line, as you can tell by my avatar.
