Lowering suspension

I'm new to this and have only made one kit the golf mk2 by revell I want to go down the vw route and was wanting to start modifying them I've found you can buy little extras but wasn't sure about suspension do u need to alter the standard one by cutting it down and altering other parts or is there kits you can buy? I havnt seen any on my searches

The easiest route to go for lowering cars like this is to:

1) Mock up the car with the stock suspension to see what the stock ride height is, and measure the ground clearance

2) Decide how much you want to lower it, and determine what the ground clearance will be lowered to where you want it.

3) Subtract the number you get in step 2 from the number you get in step 1.

4) Cut off the stub-axles from the suspension and glue them back on that much HIGHER. This will LOWER the car by exactly the amount you want, and is much like how you do it with a real one. Measure and cut very carefully and it will all work perfectly. Keep things square.
