roym Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 simply, which is the better kit/easier build? Also, how is the Revell 68 Charger? Looking at Bullitt car down the road. And is there any way to make a 71-73 Mustang besides the Lindberg kit? Cheers, Roy
Casey Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 simply, which is the better kit/easier build? The Revell (Monogram) 1/24 '70 Challenger T/A Also, how is the Revell 68 Charger? Looking at Bullitt car down the road. Excellent. One of Revell's best kits. See the review of the very similar 1/25 Revell '69 Charger R/T kit in the Model Cars: Kit Reviews section. And is there any way to make a 71-73 Mustang besides the Lindberg kit? AMT and MPC both produced kits of them, and they are much better than the Lindberg kit, which is best avoided. The last reissue of the MPC kit was under the AMT label and had some issues, so finding an early '70s issue would be ideal.
TurboKitty Posted March 7, 2013 Posted March 7, 2013 The Charger is a very nice kit. It doesn't have the textured vinyl roof molded in like on the '69. The Revell Challenger, if I remember right, is tooled from the diecast so it looks "off". The AMT goes together a little better and offers a Shaker hood as well as hardtop or convt variations depending on the kit you get.
roym Posted March 7, 2013 Author Posted March 7, 2013 Cheers lads, so either Challenger kit will do then.
Casey Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 The Revell Challenger, if I remember right, is tooled from the diecast so it looks "off". The Revell 1/25 scale '70 Challenger T/A-R/T kit is diecast based. The ex-Monogram (now under the Revell label) 1/24 scale kit was never diecast based. The AMT kit is really a convertible with a hardtop which you must attach to the body, so the roof ends up looking funky IMHO.
Captain Obvious Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 This is the Revell 2-in-1 Challenger I did, I think it's a pretty nice kit...
