I just got it knowing it's mostly a dog of a kit having built the AMT 78 issue from a few years back. Decals are great and it fills a gap in the collection. My biggest gripe, actually my only gripe knowing the history of the moulds, is that they didn't see fit to tool up a usable set of door mirrors. Bad fit I can forgive, and work around. Chrome headlamps I can forgive. Dodgy tyres I can forgive. No door mirrors? Bah.......

Hope they do well. F1 needs help right now. Been an F1 fan as long as I can remember, and it says something about the sport that the most interesting character- driver wise, for me anyway- is a Finnish Vodka enthusiast known as the Iceman, famous for his lack of emotion with the press (and not for the cubes of frozen water in his Beverage). Still think Alonso is the most gifted and intelligent driver in the field. Wish Hamilton would go back to whatever hood he thinks he came from. Racing needs to be racing, not processions. Amazing to think that in this modern era LeMans can produce a closer finish (14 odd seconds between different makes of cars) after 24 hours racing than F1 can after 24 minutes.

So far the only kit of the Mk2, it's accuracy issues are well known. Lucky for me this was a commission build of a current rally car that shares features of the kit which cause problems if you are doing one of the original factory units. (i.e. the height of the rear arches). Mostly oob, I just sanded the front arches to better represent the 1:1 and converted it to RHD. I also modified the sit by having the rear axle mounted out of position compared to ESCI's intentions, looks better now. Also added mud flaps, Had a nightmare printing my own decals, not happy with them. Just gone off to the new owner, hope they like it.

Am I missing something here? It looks like the Round 2 website hasn't been updated for a good while. As even the 79 Trans Am isn't on it I'm wondering what else is available that I'm missing out on...

Some of those AMT trucks (if not all) in that year's Matchbox catalogue illustrated above were built by Ted Taylor, who worked with Matchbox at the time. He also wrote for UK based model magazines (Scale Models, and later Scale Aircraft Modelling, amongst others). Quite a talented modeller, just as famous for his 1/48 Phantoms as his 1/25 trucks. Hmm, never thought of that. Was thinking more along the line of a fine permanent marker or gel pen. But one that writes white and works on shiny clear styrene. Dunno if such a thing exists.

As in a handwritten sign, i.e. just married, for sale, etc. Looking to get the effect of white handwritten words on the windows, without the hassle of having to use white paint and a fine brush, with the associated risks of poor flowing paint and slips of the hand destroying the model...

Hi all, Several queries to ask so I figured I'd stick them all in the one post. As most of my US car kits have to come from online and abroad I don't have the luxury of asking for a peek in the box at the local model shop. Does anyone know is there any inbox reviews or photos even of the 1:16 AMT 64.5-65 Mustang kit? I built this back in the day as a Matchbox AMT issue (and I think I even still have the hulk somewhere). I know it's not the best kit of a Mustang but interested in it as a nostalgia build and the price seems ok. Just wondering what decals are included, and what spare parts are in there (might even be able to replace the missing bits on the original!) Secondly; What kit is recommended for each of the following; 71-73 Mustang, AMT or MPC tooling? I gather neither are great but I only want a shelf model. A curbside would even do! Second Gen 74-78 what AMT kits are able to build stock version (I see a "Firefighter" issue, but I don't want a Drag car). Third Gen 79-86 Fox body I see AMT and Revell kits. What's the preferred option? Accurate shape more important than detailed builds. Third Gen 87-93 Aero facelift? I see the Revell 90 LX is getting a bit of a hammering. Any others? Fourth Gen 94-04. Both Revell (99) and AMT (97) and Monogram (94) have this in their lines, recent issues even. Again, what do the wise folks on here recommend? As a guide, I've got the old AMT 66 Notchback, 68 GT500, 69 Mach 1(1/27th scale!) and modern tooled 67GT under my belt. They don't scare me! The Lindberg 63 concept does a bit though! I've also got most of the modern Revell 05- and 09- kits, which I love. Thanks in advance, Roy

No the snap kit wheels are seven spoke like the full glue GT kit wheels. It's actually for the snap kit i want them!
