acmiaz Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 This is a 1/43 resin kit of the car the King ran in 71. Simple kit but very old probably 23 years old. Its not holding up as well as others I build during the same time frame. If I knew of replacement decals for that body I would rebuild it.
MAGNUM4342 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 (edited) You came to the right place Mark. Beauty of a build. What Blue did you use for the Petty blue. I want to say it's really close but that could be the lighting. Edited March 15, 2013 by MAGNUM4342
acmiaz Posted March 15, 2013 Author Posted March 15, 2013 Thanks Kevin! I used #43 blue from Realistic Racing True Match it was available in the mid to late 90's. It was available in 3/4 oz bottles and spray. I think I used the bottle, You may already be familiar with it.
MAGNUM4342 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 That explains the match! Those paints were excellent, if a bit ambitious. I think they overestimated the market for them. Hey check your private messages.
shafer Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 great build just makes me drool, I have several 1/43 petty resins on the way for me to build
Custom Hearse Posted April 11, 2013 Posted April 11, 2013 Isn't that the '72 Road Runner? The grill and taillights look like to be a 1972 model...
shafer Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 if i am not mistaken 71 and 72 were the same car only the side marker lights were different 71 has a 3 segmented marker, 72 is one piece
Scottnkat Posted April 15, 2013 Posted April 15, 2013 Really nice job, especially for such a small scale - those 1:43 cars are just too small for me - good for you
Custom Hearse Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 This is the '71 taillights... This is the '72 taillights...
