XJ6 Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Hey i was just wondering.....when one looks at a thread..and they see just how many, Views & Replies it has had....Does that counter just work for us members? Say if a Vistor (Non-member) reads the thread...does that count as a View.?.... Just Curious...That's All.... Cheers to All
XJ6 Posted March 23, 2013 Author Posted March 23, 2013 (edited) If I recall no.. the view counter is guests too. but I could be wrong.. when I had my forum up I was running a much older version. Hey Thanks for the reply back.....I tracked one of the Mod's and he went to this thread....hoping he would have had a answer...But na...no reply there... Oh well sure somebody outa know.... I agree with you....I think the views count along with the guest.... Still just wondering.... Later....Don Edited March 23, 2013 by XJ6
Casey Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Hey Thanks for the reply back.....I tracked one of the Mod's and he went to this thread....hoping he would have had a answer...But na...no reply there... I don't really know, and I'm not even sure if when I read topics they count as an additional read. I've seen topics which I for sure have read, and they still have zero reads. I'm pretty sure I unchecked the 'Cloak' option in My Profile, but I guess I should double-check.

Dave Ambrose Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I wouldn't rely on those counters being too accurate. The BBS has the notion of a session independent of your login status. But, we don't necessarily keep those counts updated. Too much overhead, and we'd like to think that people would rather read the material than count it.
