i just had a thought and i may spend a few dollars to try this , ,, i see no reason what i cant have a pair of pliers made with the hex ground into the jaws to form hex stock and then slice off the length to make nuts ,, or maybe there is such a tool already , anyway , your thoughts on this guys

Hi Anne,

That sounds like a cool idea ! If you have not seen it, plastruct makes styrene hex stock in sizes as small as .020.

While not cheap, Scale Hardware offers a neat line of miniature rivet, nut, bolt and even working bolts and nuts in metal in some unbelievable small sizes. These are machined in brass, some come plated as well. http://www.scalehardware.com/

I've used some of them, and believe me, they do add scale realism.

Tho plastruct sells hex rod..your tool sounds really cool actually i kinda envision like wire strippers that would have diff size hex shapes rather then stripper slots. Neat idea tho!!!!
