Just a nod to my past... AMT/Ertl's Vending Machine. Man, this kit is horrid! No positive locating points, flash all over, warped... If I had built this as a kid, I might never have continued building. Now as an adult, I'm just taking a Zen-like approach to it, fixing what needs to be fixed to Get 'er done! Tamiya pearl white, Model Master Flame red, pretty much box stock besides the re-engineering to make things work.

New Revell 49 Merc... Its coming together well, polished out the paint (Model Master Ultraviolet pearl) and have most of the other stuff painted. I need to build the engine and interior and I can wrap it up.

Enjoy... Comments always welcome!

I've tried that vending machine kit in the past and lets just say I had less than satisfactory results. I'd love to see the progress on yours as it goes along.

Where did get the engine stand that the merc kit's caddy engine is sitting on? It looks like it wouldn't be too hard to scratch build.

Love the color on the merc too. I'm not too big on show rods but that one looks pretty good. What color scheme are you going with?

I have one of those, too. I believe it was in the Lindberg '34 Ford pickup kit - the version that can be built as a stake body or tow truck. It might be in both versions of the kit but I can't be sure.

Nice builds! I have one of the Vending Machine kits. I haven't started it do to the lack of the decals I wanted. I want to make "the Dr.Pepper Rod", a tribute to my favorite sodapop! The paint on the Merc is awesome!!!! good job so far.
