crowe-t Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 How are the Competition Resins' resin Bodies? Are they nicely cast? Are they easy to paint? Any information or pictures will be appreciated.
High octane Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 They are nicely cast and you should have no problem painting them either.
Rob Hall Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Haven't built the ones I have yet, but they are cleanly cast and fit together pretty well w/ the donor kits... I've got their '71 Challenger Pro Stock, '72 Demon Pro Stock, and '72 Cuda Pro Stock...
crowe-t Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 Thanks guys! What do you use for the clear windows? I assume these Competition Resin bodies don't come with clear windows.

crowe-t Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 I was looking at the Comp Resins' Pinto Pro Stock kit. Does anyone know what windows will fit this kit?
Burnout Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 (edited) I've built three or four models with Comp Resin bodies and everything I've ever bought from Roger is of the highest quality. He is also very prompt when it comes to shipping. The fiat pictured is one of his bodies and I'm currently working on a project built around his '71 Challenger P/S. Included with my Challenger body was a sheet of clear plastic for making windows but you can also use windows from an appropriate donor kit as somebody has already mentioned. crowe-t Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 Ken, Your Fiat is beautiful! Did you scratch build the chassis? Mike.
crowe-t Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 Has anyone built the Comp Resins' Pinto Pro Stock kit? I'm curious what chassis to use?
Rob Hall Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Has anyone built the Comp Resins' Pinto Pro Stock kit? I'm curious what chassis to use? Without a '70s MPC Pinto being readily available, I'd say the reissue of the MPC '70s Mustang II Pro Stock from a few years ago ('Fire Fighter') would be the place to start, shortening the chassis...

Would the MPC Firefighter kit's windshields fit a Pinto?
Burnout Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Michael, Thank you for the compliment. No, the chassis is the roadster from the Tony Nancy double dragster kit. I would have preferred to show you one of the comp resin 'doorslammer' bodies but my pics are not accessable. KB
Rob Hall Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Would the MPC Firefighter kit's windshields fit a Pinto? Don't know, maybe it could be modified to fit.
caine440 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I am building a 71 Demon Pro Stocker now. Very nice casting. I use clear .010 evergreen styrene and glue it in with devcon 5 min epoxy for all my windows for resin bodies. Cut it to fit and glue one side than the other.

caine440 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 Here is a mix of cars that used clear sheets for the glass for windshields and side windows.
crowe-t Posted April 2, 2013 Author Posted April 2, 2013 (edited) WOW those look great! Roger, Thanks for posting those. Mike. Edited April 2, 2013 by crowe-t
MAGNUM4342 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I especially like that Rod Shop Challenger! Beauty!
caine440 Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 I wish I would of had different bumpers for the Challenger, I am thinking of getting a resin set to get rid of the little bumper guards. Thanks for the kind words.
