Bigfordguy Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 This build I decided to shave the louvers on the fenders the side markers front and rear, and all the emblems.I also shaved all the bolt heads on the bumpers and colour matched them to the car. I also decided to dechrome everything and paint it silver.
TheRX7Project Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 (edited) The bumpers are a nice touch. How was the kit, assembly wise? I had this kit in my hand today and put it down (mostly because I have enough irons in the fire at the moment) Edited April 4, 2013 by TheRX7Project
Bigfordguy Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 Thanks for the comments The kit was pretty easy to put together, I cant recall really having any problems with it other then the litlle decal in the engine bay
Shelby 427 1965 Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Looks like a very understated street sleeper.. Great job
kalbert Posted April 4, 2013 Posted April 4, 2013 Dig the shaved fender louvers. Next time shave the copyright off the chassis too! Seriously though, it looks real good. I like that blue color alot, and the silver painted chrome bits. Kinda turns the volume down on it. Kit chrome looks cheap and toy like, that silver paint makes it look good!
Bigfordguy Posted April 4, 2013 Author Posted April 4, 2013 Thanks lol, I may try black washing the front grill though to give it some depth
Bigfordguy Posted April 5, 2013 Author Posted April 5, 2013 Thanks everyone, really appreciate all the comments
Bigfordguy Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 Thanks for the comment As for the ignition wires and BMF, I actually just got back into the hobby about 6-7 weeks ago. I had thrown away what supplies I had so I am starting over fresh. I have checked my LHS and no luck on the ignition wire or the BMF, so I just ordered it from Scale Dreams on tuesday just waiting for it to get here lol. I also ordered positive and negative battery cable from Scale Dreams. I have been working on my little hobby corner in my bedroom put some shelfs up for my paints got a little container with 27 drawers for all my sand paper, knives, glue and tape, so I am slowly stock piling my stuff This car itself I dont think I will BMF it, but I will be doing more detail on my 67 Coronet
Bigfordguy Posted April 6, 2013 Author Posted April 6, 2013 Thanks Sorry I forgot to answer, the colour is Tamiya's Mica Blue
