cosmonemo Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 was looking to see if anyone has any tips or tricks to making the carburetor color look correct, i can find a way to match or come close to a color that looks right for lets say Holley carbs. any help would be great
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 I kind of like this effect. It's Rub-N-Buff gold over Alclad.
cosmonemo Posted April 8, 2013 Author Posted April 8, 2013 thanks for the help I will try these colors
berr13 Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 I'm partial to a color I found in a variety store in Colorado a few years ago. It's Krylon Short Cuts "Antique Bronze" enamel, in a one ounce bottle. It's maybe a 3:1 mix of brass and silver, and to me it looks perfect on a Holley carb. Sad to say, though, it could be hard to find these days.
Greg Myers Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 get out yer silver and gold and start mixin'. I find it's a trial and error kinda thing. Do some home work and Google Carburetors to find the color of the one you're working on. Good luck.
