Tom Geiger
Richard, if you are using the kit seats, a lot of other seats will fit on those pedestals! I used the custom pleated buckets out of the '57 Ford kit in one of mine...

crazyrichard
well i was lazy and decided to play around with some paints .... after some tryes with yellow and other washes i painted the wole body in aluminium zink spray (real alu layer). the after that dryed i painted the whole body red and with a cloth and some thinner wiped of the red until i got this result.. the alu spray is almost indestructible so the thinner didnt affect that.. the chevy rear bumper i molded ont the van a bit but not perfect so it looked a bit rough still ... not finished btw > the today after looking at the van the front looked like ..... so i cut the lower section off added a chevy front bumper and masked it and gave that the same threatment with alu spray and red .. added some bullets between the headlights so its now a dovy van ?? or a chedge van planning to ad some stuff on the body ... edit did some more and added the pics to this post wash on the front and added a "to low" license plate then started a base from wood on the roof , will make some sides to that and put some nice stuf on , maybe tied down with rope Edited June 22, 2013 by crazyrichard

crazyrichard
did some more on the roofrack , not finished btw i put a spare wheel with steelie rim on the back , that will get a real bolt in the middle where you look on the wood there will be a added strip to close it up with the ford and the pick-up Edited June 23, 2013 by crazyrichard
KurseD
Cool build. Definitely following this one. I decided to go the ultra tacky 70s route with mine as I kinda dig that funky retro 70s stuff anyway. I really like the direction you're going with your kit though.
crazyrichard
thnx and yes the funky 70's theme is also very cool i went this way so it matches my other builds a bit

Gluhead
Yer a nut Richard hahaha but I like it. I drove my dads '76 for years after spending half my teenage years in it. One of these days I'll build it in scale. Tried to years ago but I didn't haz no skillz then.
Tom Geiger
Yer a nut Richard hahaha but I like it. I drove my dads '76 for years after spending half my teenage years in it. One of these days I'll build it in scale. Tried to years ago but I didn't haz no skillz then. I used to have a 1977 Dodge Sportsman 300 extended wheelbase van. It was two tone blue and I bought it in 1986 to use in my new home renovation. I paid $600 for it because it ran really lousy. The old owner had put the wires back on in the wrong order. Once fixed, it ran fine for the two years I owned it. A buddy o mine borrowed it and blew the motor. Still, I sold it for $850!

crazyrichard
well worked some more on the van , in the end i painted it all over with metallic red and wiped that down again .. gave it some washes , added mirrors , details like decals and a company logo , spare wheel cover etc .. not 100% done yet it just needs more weirdness maybe some stuff on the roof woth a tarp over it , some string to tie down the wheels ..
