clovis Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I am returning to the hobby after a 25 year hiatus. In fact, it has probably been 30 years since I've built a car, save the Corvette my daughter and I built for her last 4-H project. When primering and painting a car body, what do you do about the inside of the shell? Do you primer and paint it too? The kit we are building is the 1:16 AMT '64 Mustang. I'll most likely be using rattle cans. Thanks in advance!!!!
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 It's usually good to get some kind of something on the interior surfaces that will show after the model is assembled.
CadillacPat Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 I paint everything inside out. This way you make sure all your edges are covered. CadillacPat
Guest G Holding Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 Clean and prep inside and out. primer, Use a quality one, let dry....look for imperfections you missed, sand remove.....etc then re prime and set aside to dry and fully cure. Now, tack or blow off and shoot color On the outside,I also shoot clear now if a one color paint . If not using the same color for the interior, you can mask off before color, and then HAND paint the interior as you usually will not see much, but mask and spray if you like. This can be daunting, but a good look or Google search will let you see what the interior should look like, and paint detail is easy if you take your time.
