I'm currently working on the AMT 1965 El Camnio and one of the issues I am facing that I can't figure out a solution to is what to replace the chassis plate that comes in the box with. I got close with the Revell 65 Chevy Stepside, but I have to cut up the ENTIRE interior tub for the El Camino to get that to fit. I'm assuming a 65 chevelle would work? Don't know it there is a 65 chevelle kit around? What about Revell's 66 El Camino?

The frame from the '66 El Camino would be the most accurate, and should work just fine as the El Camino was pretty much the same from the cowl back from '64-'67.

Well, AMT 65 El Camino & Wagon Are The Same Piece!!

They Do share the Chassis & Engine. I have a few of each so can compare them!!!

Use any of the 3 Rev-Mono kits based off the 65 z-16 Chevelle

The Z-16, or the 66 Wagon or El Camino.

The El Camino is on a Car platform, Not a Truck, so trying to use the

Pickup chassis Will lead to a LOT of cutting.

The Rev-Mono El Camino/Wagon/65 Z-16 platform Will fit, I have one under the Twin 65 Wagon

Thanks so much guys, I think I know where I can get one of those kits dirt cheap instead of paying 15 bucks at HobbyLobby since I'm just going to use the frame..

Show us when you get going.

I planned to do similar with the 65 wagon but every kit I bought for the donor chassis turned out too good not to build.

Still, I used the all moulded in one kit chassis and it can't have turned out too bad as i've won with it twice.
