Mike77 Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 These are all 1/16 trucks that I've built over the years. Most were sold to a guy on the east coast named Jack Byrnes Hill. He has since posted them on his "Flickr" pages and for some reason is claiming that he built them. Kinda low-class if you ask me, but if it makes him feel better. Anywho, I enjoyed building these and I hope to return to building 1/16 in the near future...
72 Charger Posted April 16, 2013 Posted April 16, 2013 I cant say which one I like the most i love them all there great
kilrathy10 Posted April 17, 2013 Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) Very nice work....All of these look good....Especially the large cars......I'm a big fan of your work....I've seen a couple of these here and there.....Excellent, clean, and imaginative work.... And, as a side note, I feel you....I can't see how anyone can think they can claim someone else's work as their own....Even if HE did buy it, It's still not HIS work...I'll use your words.....Very low class..... Kenny B Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 (edited) Very very nice work love them all. Why did you sell them???? How do you put a price on something like that??? Nice work. Kenny B Edited April 26, 2013 by Kenny B
Mike77 Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Very very nice work love them all. Why did you sell them???? How do you put a price on something like that??? Nice work. Kenny B I built these back from 1999 to about 2004. I built a few and posted a couple of photos online somewhere, and a guy contacted me about buying them. I didn't have a lot of display space but I enjoyed building, so I sold the ones I had already built to him. Then he started asking for certain rigs in certain colors and styles and was willing to pay the right price for them so I built more. Keep in mind this was about 10 years ago, and I hadn't built any since. Recently I started to get the urge to do another Pete wrecker (bigger and better this time), and I started browsing the web for ideas. That's when I came across this guys Flickr pages and saw my old trucks. Sadly as people were commenting on how much they liked them he was taking credit for building them. I know once I sold them to him they became his trucks, but it's still pretty low to take credit for someone elses builds. Anyhow, I'm just in the planning and parts accumulation stages of my next build, and after a decade it'll almost feeling like I'm starting over in the hobby even though I started model building as a kid in the 1970's, mostly Corvettes and big rigs. I just recently discovered these forums and already I've "met" some great people, seen a lot of outstanding models, and gained some valuable info. Are you sorry you asked now?
AzTom Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 It's good the have you here Mike. I hope you do a WIP for us when you get started, I love wreckers. I hope to get started again, took the last year off getting moved for the third "Last time I'm ever doing that again" I was having a blast ripping diecast apart and have this 1/16 truck started.
Mike77 Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 Thanks Tom! I recognize your moniker from the Diecast Pub, that's a cool looking project you have going there. I'll be starting my wrecker project next week and I'll be posting some in-progress pics as I go.

I tried to leave a "nice" comment under the picture of the Kenworth cabover Aerodyne YOU built but it wouldn't let me for some reason? I love how he even has a little story of how he built and painted it! LOL Edited April 28, 2013 by Ben

All I know is taking credit for someone elses builds isn't what this hobby is all about.
