CrazyGirl Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 what can anyone tell me about this kit , a 1995 Monogram kit number 2924 , or should I wait for a Monogram Pro Modeler 58 Corvette
Sport Suburban Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 It's not a bad kit. It's a simple kit that dates back to 77. It had been released many times and is not hard to find. The 58 kit is a newer tool that has only been released once so far as the 58 and a modified release as the 59. The just released Revell 62 is also similar in tooling to the 58/59 kits. I don't have any of the current 62. But if you can only have one I would go for the 58.
Casey Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 or should I wait for a Monogram Pro Modeler 58 Corvette Absolutely. The 1/24 Monogram '57 (and '53) Vette kits are okay, but not great, and certainly nowhere near as good as the newer Revell '62 and the '58/'59 Vette kits.
PeeBee Posted April 22, 2013 Posted April 22, 2013 And, if you're trying to keep to a constant scale the later, "new-tool" Revell Corvettes ('58; '59; '62; '67; '68 and '69), and AMT '57s (IMHO excellent kits, too) are all 1/25. Paul B.
ToyLvr Posted April 23, 2013 Posted April 23, 2013 I would strongly suggest the MPC #301 '56/'57 Corvette kit. Really nice 1/25, and highly detailed as compared to the Monogram or AMT kits. The MPC even has a working from suspension that uses real metal springs. Likewise, I like MPC's #306 '60 Vette for the same reason. These are old kits from the golden years of MPC, but there are still quite a few around out there, some at reasonable prices (if you do a thorough search). Just my .02 cents worth..... Mike
