johnbuzzed
God bless them all; we'll all see them "live"" again one day. No cover charge and happy hour all day, too!
kitbash1
I'll miss Richie Havens, loved his music. He and Gill Scott-Haron were the coolest. Sadly both are gone now. Edited April 25, 2013 by kitbash1

kitbash1
i had to remind someone yesterday: the Revolution will not be televised! " You will not be able to stay home. brother. You will not be able to plug in, turn on and cop out. You will not be able to lose yourself on skag and skip out for beer during commercials, because the revolution will not be televised. charlie8575
And now George Jones, too as of yesterday. All I can say is with all those guys and Dave Brubeck now, there's gonna be one helluva jam session someone in the great beyond. Bernard Kron
Havens had one of the great voices of popular music. Not only was he a superb interpreter of a broad variety of pop songs, but that iconic voice could be heard for decades on radio and television in countless ads. Musical tastes finally turned the corner with the changing of the century and Haven's ubiquity faded with the rise of 80's and 90's music in ad jingles. But his unique baritone growl will no doubt be rediscovered by coming generations of vocalists.
