Mercman Posted April 24, 2013 Posted April 24, 2013 Well after the slot shop the bench looked empty so I started this one. Getting it ready for the paint booth. Still have to add all of the windows, and doors yet. BTW this thing is huge.
hooknladderno1 Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Junior, Very cool! What scale is it? David
High octane Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 Somebody call 911 is what I said when I walked into a Hooters Restaurant and saw all those "hot lookin" waitresses.
Mercman Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 Currently this is what is done. First front, and rear shots. Next is the floor bracing start, and the office mock up. Then the 2nd floor. I see that I have some repainting yet to do again, along with a lot of other things yet.
Mercman Posted May 8, 2013 Author Posted May 8, 2013 Had a nasty seam on the corner. so to hide it I made this. So to hide it I made this.
FIREMODELMAN Posted May 12, 2013 Posted May 12, 2013 WHOA, VERY NICE. The flag pole is awesome. Do you have an HO layout ? I've got one 'kinda' in progress, keep up the good work.

I used a ball headed pin for the top, and beading wire for the cord. The flag decal is from Micro Scale. Edited May 12, 2013 by Mercman
Mercman Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 Well I did get some model time in theis weekend. Here is what I got done today. The first pic is the before. Notice the walls are bare.%5BIMG%5Dhttp://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a2/mercman51/Construction%20Zone/Fire%20Dept/Fire003_zps720641e0.jpgI cut some brick sheet to fit them.%5BIMG%5Dhttp://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a2/mercman51/Construction%20Zone/Fire%20Dept/911001_zps8289d182.jpgThen added some more floor joists to support the 2nd floor.%5BIMG%5Dhttp://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a2/mercman51/Construction%20Zone/Fire%20Dept/911002_zpsdb42ba94.jpgMay not be the most work done, but between cooking, and stuff I got a little done. Still have to work on the office area yet, and the stairway to the 2nd floor, and the pole.

Mercman Posted May 30, 2013 Author Posted May 30, 2013 Got the inner walls done, and ready to go. The white area on the floor will be the dispatch office. With the 2nd floor in place. Still have a lot to do on this level yet. Looking in on 2nd floor.
GTMust Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 This is really coming along great Junior. I hope you have lots of room in your town (basement?) for this, the truck dealership and the bus terminal. And then there's Mel's...... and what else?Tony
nboldman Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 The diorama is sweet, but I got a kick out of the title. My baseball had a team party at one of the players house and one of the guys "butt dialed" 911. Cop showed up and asked who dialed 911 and he goes i butt dialed! I called back and told them it was a butt dial. It was pretty funny as no one was expecting a cop to show up!
Mercman Posted June 2, 2013 Author Posted June 2, 2013 Needed second floor access so I built me a set of steps. Also got the walls of the office done. Notice my fancy gluing jig. Can't dispatch the trucks without a console. This is still a WIP.
Mercman Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 Got the office furniture in. Some of the window treatment. With this I wont have to do too much to the 2nd floor, just a small area.
GTMust Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Wow Junior. Your detail work never ceases to amaze me... and at such a small scale!Tony
Mercman Posted June 6, 2013 Author Posted June 6, 2013 (edited) Wow Junior. Your detail work never ceases to amaze me... and at such a small scale!TonyYeah and to think I got out of 1/25th because I got sick of detailing them!!!!!!!! This was easy for the office the one desk and table are kit items, the file cabinets are just pieces of plastic, and the console is a pic from Google, with a built base from Plastruc, and Evergreen. The windows shown were done with scrap pieces of food storage bags. These are the ones you seal and vacuum pack.I still have more details to add yet so stay tuned. Edited June 6, 2013 by Mercman
Mercman Posted June 7, 2013 Author Posted June 7, 2013 2nd floor wall mockup. Gotta have brass poles. The rear one will be in the bunkhouse area.
Mercman Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 Put some safety guards around where the poles are. I cut down a cigar tube that I found. ( the orange pieces) Also shown will be some stuff for the rec room. Pool table jukebox, and a proto type for a weight set.
LongRoofNut Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Walters always made some good stuff. I wish I could get the '30s/'40s car dealer ship building in 1/24th.
Mercman Posted June 16, 2013 Author Posted June 16, 2013 Adding some more details. The office is taking shape. Started on kitchen stuff, table, and a fridge. Also needed a TV for relaxation time. Anyone know what's playing? And finally in case a call comes in the turnout gear locker.
crazyrichard Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 awsome stuff and in that scale ... cool !!!!!!!!!
