Monty Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 What 1:1 wheels are they meant to represent? I'm fairly familiar with a lot of wheels & mfrs from the time, but I'm clueless as to what these are.
Monty Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 Yes. You and a couple other brainiacs solved my last wheel question so I thought I'd take it up a level.
Monty Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 I think there suppose to be wire wheels.. because if you black wash the base and put it together it does look like wire wheels Interesting if true. AMT did some extremely nice wire wheels for the '65(?) Riviera - much more impressive than these IMNSHO.
Eshaver Posted April 25, 2013 Posted April 25, 2013 The only wheel that comes to mind to me at least would have been the Aluminum wheel that Budd manufacturing did for Pontiac , ( 1961-4 ) They had an "Early Ford " pattern as the wheel lugs were in the outer part of the rim. The wheel itself was built that way as the brake drum was part of the wheel too.
Monty Posted April 25, 2013 Author Posted April 25, 2013 I think one of the iterations of AMT's '66 Mercury had some version of those wheels.
Blown03SVT Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 with a black wash they look sort of like tru-spokes to me.
