Monty Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 (edited) Here's the stuff I'm talking about - not the "teal" in the 1/4 oz jars. I'm told it's a slightly different shade (not as dark) as Testors' enamel Chezoom Teal. I'm also curious about its opacity. Will the shade of primer affect its appearance? Bonus question: What's a good primer for acrylics? Edited May 5, 2013 by Monty
Porscheman Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 This cougar is is painted in the above color. I used Tamiya's white primer. It only has 3 coats of the color and four coats of clear.Hope this helps.Al
sjordan2 Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 How is that close to teal, which has a more green cast to it?
Monty Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 Al, that's a good lookin' Cougar, but are you sure it was painted Teal? As Skip noted, the color I'm looking for should be more bluish-green or vice versa. If I understood you correctly, you shot MM acrylic over Tamiya lacquer primer? OK, apparently that works well.
Porscheman Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Monty,It is teal, maybe it's the picture. With the Tamiya white primer, you get the color you want by the number of coats you add.
