Longbox55
Well Rob, given you've opened the options from Pickup. A '54 Chevy Panel Truck would fill the bill as what in the mid '60's'd be a Dream Vehicle! Inline 6 that would deliver 20+mpg, run forever and as long as there was Water in the Radiator it wouldn't overheat. Yep Gas was cheap back then (heck several times I filled up a 5 gallon "Jerry Can" for under a buck & got a free galss in the deal) , but you still had to pay for it! And the Panel had 3 additional advantges. 1 A secure place for the Board if not in use, 2 A changing room, 3 Somewhere to sleep you could afford. Does anyone actually make a conversion body to build a '54 Panel?
Crazy Ed
Does anyone actually make a conversion body to build a '54 Panel? I don't know Bill. But Revell did release several versions of the complete kit
Longbox55
But that's not a Panel Truck, its a Sedan Delivery, very different vehicles.
ToyLvr
Rob: How about a pick-up that you don't see everyday. Plenty of room for surfboards, has good traction in the sand....
Tom Geiger
Does anyone actually make a conversion body to build a '54 Panel? I know I have a '50 Chevy panel van, I think it's from R&R. Back when All American was in business they did a '54 pickup. Put those two together..
Jantrix
Guys I've decided to use the AMT 65 Lincoln since I already own the kit. Thanks for all the advice. Ill let the thread continue in case others are getting ideas from it.
Fabrux
57 Ford Ranchero wagon cut down as an elky Um...what? Ford had wagons (Parklane, Del Rio, Ranch Wagon, Country Sedan, and Country Squire) and they also had the Ranchero, which was the first pickup based on a car body sold in the US; El Camino came later. Check out the Wiki article for the Ranchero.
