My first non-American build! Paint is Duplicolor Quasar Blue metallic. Surprising amount of chrome trim on these cars, which is probably what appealed to me when I saw the kit. Foil is done, side windows are in. It'll be time to join body and chassis, one the rear view mirror is in. The chassis/interior are done. It's very nicely engraved, just too bad you don't get to really see any of it, once everything's together. Nice decals for the instruments, as well. Hopefully, I'll get this one done in a few days.

I love that car and that kit. I've built it several times.

Be prepared for frustration and aggravation when you try to get the chassis to seat properly under the body. It is a very tight squeeze and you'll feel like it is about to break before it actually gets in place. Keep a knife blade (chisel tip is probably best) handy to use as a lever between the front wheel wells and the body.

Good luck.

Tried to post these earlier, but the site seemed to be down for awhile. Chilly, you just about nailed that. In fact, that's exactly how it felt, getting the top and bottom together. Once joined though, you can see just what a precise fit everything is.

I'm happy to see that you got it together without smashing it! You are right about the precision, which I really appreciate in a kit and that's why I love Tamiya so much. Once the chassis is in, it ain't going nowhere! I think the first time I built this kit I didn't follow the instructions faithfully because I thought it would be better to install the windshield and rear window before mating body to chassis! NOT. And the second one I built, which was the Monte Carlo rallye version, I put all the decals on before mating and, luckily, I didn't ruin any in the process.

Anyway, congratulations. That color is beautiful on the car. I wish more modelers here had an interest in cars like this one.

Picked up that model a couple of years back simply because it looked so different. Was planning to do it in a color close to what seems to be the most common color but your darker blue looks a lot better. I look forward to seeing it finished.

Thank you for your interest, everyone. My little French putt putt is all done, now. I will try to get some outside shots tomorrow, and post 'em in the finished section. ;)
