mnwildpunk Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Which company/companies made the desert dog pvc fomula tires?
Edsel-Dan Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 You mean which Kit company offered them? or Full size? MPC started them, but AMT & even Monogram had them!! My Monogram Sheriff's blazer came with them!! VERY Hard fit on the rims made for solid core tires!
crazyjim Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Ma's Resin has Desert Dog tires and bead lock wheels to fit them. I'm just waiting for my order to arrive so I can finish a Jeep.
Casey Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 Which company/companies made the desert dog pvc fomula tires? MPC originally, then they were reissued with some AMT kits by RC2, and now in both MPC and AMT kits by Round2. There are two sizes IIRC, and the most recent kits to include them are the '84 GMC 4x4 and Jeep Commando (larger diameter version) and the "Daisy's Jeep" (smaller diameter version).
mnwildpunk Posted June 4, 2013 Author Posted June 4, 2013 Yes I ment model kit company. Also thank you for the answer. I have two of them in my tire bin and no clue where they had come from
Edsel-Dan Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 (edited) Casey, Like I said, Monogram had them in a few kits too!! Both of my Sheriff Blazers had them Here is the supplemental instruction sheet for them ] I think AMT was using them Before Ertl bought MPC, though Not 100% sure of that. Yes there are 2 sizes. The Custom only Bushwacker issue of the Army Jeep had them, as well as the CJ's I think the "Hombre" issue of the Commando had the smaller, but Both 'Mountain Goat issues have the larger The "Scavenger" Datsun pickup Tow truck had 2 fro the rears, and Suburbanite's for the front! I know I am forgetting several others!! Edited June 4, 2013 by Edsel-Dan
