Plasticfanatic Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 Well, I put the Bob Glidden name on the doors and several more decals on the car that where missing, still have to finish the pin-stripping on the car and put the clear topcoat. Then move to the engine/chassis..........I wonder if this project will be finish some day, every time I started working on it something happen that it goes back to the storage box!!! Fred
James Flowers Posted October 20, 2007 Posted October 20, 2007 That is one nice build. Where did the get the body or did you make it yourself? I would love to have a Fairmont model. I had several real ones. One of the model companys should come out with one as they would sell a ton of them. Do you have any pictures of the build up. Great job.
3men2s Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 I am a Bob Gldden fan and a Ford follower, love this model. RARE!!!! Will love to see what you will do with newer versions of Gliddens rides.
FordRodnKustom Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 Great build there. How'd you do that body? I've always hoped for a Fairmont Futura kit.

Fred Very Very Kool!! Ever think of doing some resin copies. I guarentee they will sell very quickly.
Dave D Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 Fred... that is a simply wicked build ! I'd like to see more of the detail on that. I have seen pics of your Landy Dart Sport also, and I have to tell you, these are 2 of the finest model cars I have ever seen. Awesome !!!!
Plasticfanatic Posted October 25, 2007 Author Posted October 25, 2007 Thanks for all the nice comments on the B.Glidden Fairmont, this models started life as a AMT 1965 Pontiac GTO with a front clip extension from a Roadrunner a little amount of plastic sheet and putty. When I started the project it was just an experiment of a theory I had for building a scale pro stock Fairmont, it is an ongoing project and never cross my mind that it will be a popular subject in the model community, I did't take pictures of the construction steps and conversion of the GTO to Fairmont body from the begining....a big mistake from my part, it's not a perfect model but I like it a lot. Again THANKS for all the positive comments on this build. Fred
dub Posted October 25, 2007 Posted October 25, 2007 A freakin' GTO!?!? See, that's why I love this hobby! A person can take one car and turn it into something completely different. That, and leave no trace of what you started with! Great job!!!
