FASTBACK340 Posted June 10, 2013 Posted June 10, 2013 Saw this today at my club meeting. Right hand drive 69 Barracuda convertible.
george 53 Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) Export built car that either returned or was never shipped. We used to build export cars at Cadillac for export to Europe or China. Edited June 11, 2013 by george 53
Tom Geiger Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I know that the Barracuda was never offered in Australia, but I have old ads for an import company / converter for Great Britain.
FASTBACK340 Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 Car was exported to Ireland originally. That's all I got. Either the owner is tired of telling the story or he's a putz. I joked about trading my car for his and he was in another world. Maybe a bad day.... Too bad, cool car.
FASTBACK340 Posted June 21, 2013 Author Posted June 21, 2013 (edited) Engine compartment. Timing chain cover is a marine application as the steering column goes where the stock filter location is. You are looking under the brake booster in the above picture. You can see where the oil filter & steering column wouldn't clear. Mopar guys, take note: In the above picture your looking down the left side of the engine. You can see the torsion bar heading back towards the firewall. Notice anything odd? See the idler arm attached to the left frame rail instead of mounting to the K frame facing FORWARD?!? Pretty neat, huh? Weird seeing the bulkhead connector where the master cylinder should be and the blower motor instead of a steering column! Check out that timing chain cover. Think a 6 Bbl will clear it?
