OK, so I'm trying my hand at the L700. I know the doors are a notorious pain in the backside. Anything else? Pretty easy to get the frame straight? Easy enought to get it to sit level?

On the doors, can anything be done to get them to close right. Door I need to start know about reengineering? I'd really like the doors to open vs just gluing them closed.

Just looking for suggestions...

If I remember correctly when I built my L700, the doors were the only real pain. The mounting location of the battery box is a little vague, but not terribly problematic. For some reason, it tends to have a little bit of a "shovel nose" look to it.

The 1:1 without a load on it did have a down nose stance to it although not quite that much due to being a sprung suspension with with a load would compress down to almost level.

Some who have built tis in the past have removed spring leaves to correct the stance when a trailer was added.

The doors were the only major issue I had. There was also a massive ammount of flash on all the parts. My guess is that the flash is due to the age of the mold. I worked on the doors to my kit for hours and still could not get them right. They will close but not stay closed.

I glued the drivers side door open and the passenger side closed on my L-700 flatbed onversion... If you want to get rid of the 'stinkbug stance' on the tractor, add a .040 or thicker leaf to the front springs and remove .040-.080" from the rear, depending on how you want it to set...
