Bastardo Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 (edited) I modded a 1:24 Welly Porsche 356 spider into a... Well... Eeeeerm... A rat... Why "bloody" in the name? Because I have permanently damaged my left index finger while trying to cut out the rear seat... I've cut straigh through a nerve and since then I haven't been able to feel a good portion of my fingertip... OOB: Done: Edited July 22, 2013 by Bastardo
Chillyb1 Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 That is one cool conversion. I love the welded doors. And everything else, for that matter. Sorry you had to injure yourself but the results are worth it!
Danno Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 Cool. The seat belts are a hoot! Sorry you suffered for your art.
Bastardo Posted July 23, 2013 Author Posted July 23, 2013 Thanx, guys! Yeah, the finger paid the price, but I'm not worried much as long as I can squeze the brakes on my BMX and MTB and play my drums Steve: Hoping for the best My father had his left middle finger smashed during an accident about 30 years ago and the feeling has never returned 100%... Mine wasn't smashed, but "only" cut and hopefully it'll be back in busines soon
AzTom Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I hope you finger heals ok. I like the car, especially the welded doors and seat belts.
Bastardo Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 The welded doors are something I have never done before and I'm not too happy with the result, but I'll live with it...
slusher Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Cool build. l hope you get the feeling back in your finger....
PappyD340 Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 WOW that is way COOL, love those welds on the doors, looks great!!
Dyno Davo Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Yep, that is a work of art, the welded doors are way cool
Bastardo Posted August 13, 2013 Author Posted August 13, 2013 Thanx, David To be honest, I could've done the welds way better, but this was my first attempt of making welds with Tamiya 2-component putty. Also, the gaps between the door and the body on this die cast are the size of Grand canyon, so the putty kept slipping into the gap, which gave me hella problems... Will be better next time
