twopaws Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I am looking for Cragars and slicks that are right sized for use on Willys gassers. Any suggestions? Kit or aftermarket sources, makes no difference to me.
my80malibu Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Contact Greg Wann I have mastered some narrowed front and widend rear cragers. the fronts fit the Pirelli tires like those found in the Miss Deal kits
Ace-Garageguy Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) I am looking for Cragars and slicks that are right sized for use on Willys gassers..... There were / are a lot of "Cragar" wheels. Are you looking for something like these Cragar SS wheels for the rear? And "right sized for use on Willys gassers" is going to depend a little on the time period your car represents, and power. The SWC Willys as represented by the Revell kit used 8X16 rear wheels, I believe, but other diameters and widths would have been appropriate depending on period and horsepower. A car with less power will use less tire. An A/GS car with an Olds 394 and a blower will use taller and wider slicks than an injected 283 Chevy-powered car, but they'll both be "Willys gassers". krazyglu Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I found some pretty nice examples on Ebay for cheap, deep dish, staggard, shallow dish...there all there.
Nova-ss Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) I make my own from the skits cragers ss.its not hard and alot of the mpc kits had a real wide tire that works good in the 15inch by 10 inch reverse rims.I would like to know if anyone makes 15 X 10 reverse rims and or tires. Thanks,Chris Edited July 28, 2013 by Nova-ss

These carried over into the "Mummy Machine" and "Paul Reverr and the Raiders Coach" kits also from MPC. The Raiders Coach kit was reissued by AMT-Ertl a number of years back and is easy to find/cheap to buy on that auction site. That kit also contains two additional (what would be scale 20" Cragar wheels) for the back of the coach. Here's a photo showing the wheels as referenced above. TIM Edited July 29, 2013 by tim boyd

TIM I loved the late 70's issue of the monogram 39 chevy coupe, those were some awesome Cragars! albeit large.
