I have seen these before, but can't remember where. (CRS, ya know) Anywhoo, now I can tell ya how BITCHIN' those look! I especially like the 'Horsepower, Inc.' decal. I think I have an original of that in my stash.

Can you post some pics of the chassis?

I can't decide if I want to use the chassis and engine from the Willys pickup kit or if I want to use the chassis and engine from one of the newer Revell Willys dragster kits...

Raul... Definately use the Revell '41 Willys chassis. That is what I used. I slightly modified the front suspension, to get the stance a bit higher. Just to be clear, both of these Willy's are resin bodies from Altered States. http://www.alteredstatesmodels.com/ They are 1940 Willys, not '41's.

John... ALL the wheels on both the Willys coupe & the pick-up are resin. All except the front wheels on the pick-up are from A/FX N Resin. http://www.afxnscaleresin.150m.com/ The pick-up front wheels are from Comp Resins. http://www.compresins.com/

Dave both of the willys are sweet I have both of the bodys and they do look great what did you use for the grilles they don't look like what comes with the bodys.

Raul... I'm sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. My wife spent a few days in the hospital, I was shopping for, bought, and took delivery of a new truck, and the typical holiday frenzy ! All at the same time... anyways, here are the chassis pics you asked for. Hope they help.

Stan... The grille in the pick-up IS the kit grille. I primed it, and painted it with Seymour Alumi-blast, which is a flat silver/aluminum finish. The recesses on the grill are so deep, that it did not require a black wash to highlight them. Turned out good I thought. The grille on the coupe, is covered from the inside with a very fine aluminum screen from Scale Scenics, # 562-3500. I found it in the train/plane section of my local hobby shop.

Brent... I just today saw your question asking about the paint type & color of the wheels. Sorry I didn't see it and answer sooner. The pick-up wheels are primed in grey, and painted with Seymour Alumi-blast. No Testors Dull Coat on these as I usually do. The coupe's wheels are done in Testors Model Master Buffing Metalizer Magnesium, through an airbrush, then coated with Testors Dull Coat. No buffing before or after.
