does anyone else carry over their modeling skills into the 1:1 world of their daily drivers project cars, street and hot rods etc.....

heres a couple pics of my valve covers for my 85 mustang all polished up, detail painted the "powered by ford" and clear coated all in my barraks room while I was in the military lol

I was extremely disappointed when I got my motor back from the machine shop and they had painted it black instead of the factory ford gray so eventually I repainted the valve covers again in a matte black and sanded down the fins and powered down on top for the aluminum look exposed on top looking for pic....

Not exactly the question you asked, but many of my models are in reality 'concept-sketches' for proposed or ongoing 1:1 projects. These 3, plus my avatar, are either ongoing 1:1 projects, or will be re-started within the next 12 months.

I still have things to do under the hood (bit of wiring, some new hardware for the engine, new suspension parts, more paint)

Modelling skills and 1:1 restorations/Projects go together VERY well.
