GeeBee Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 Here's a few photo's of my latest build, out of the box Tamiya Austin Mini Cooper, apart from the BMF and the drilling out of the wheels, everything else is pretty much out of the box, paint was done using Cellulose auto paints, and polished out using Mequires auto polish. GeeBee Posted November 8, 2007 Author Posted November 8, 2007 Just the front indicstors, rear lights and a few badges and decals to add, then it's finished ..... Geoff
rollover Posted November 8, 2007 Posted November 8, 2007 You've got it dead on! My daily driver is a 65 Cooper S, I'll have to try one of those kits.
GeeBee Posted November 10, 2007 Author Posted November 10, 2007 You've got it dead on! My daily driver is a 65 Cooper S, I'll have to try one of those kits. If you want to produce a 65 Cooper, you will need to sand off the safety boss off the doors, as pre' 66 didn't have these, a simply modification. Geoff
GeeBee Posted November 11, 2007 Author Posted November 11, 2007 Thanks for all the comments, i've had this on the go for some time, i have only just come back to it, i try to keep my building as clean as i can, and the BMF took me some time to get right the first i used it, but now i find it much better that trying to paint trim in chrome silver paint. I have now been talked into trying one of the Fujimi Mini's, although it's a curbside kit, i will do as much detail as possible.

Modelmartin Posted November 17, 2007 Posted November 17, 2007 Those Tamiya Minis are great kits and it looks like you having fun with them. They look great so far. The Fujimi kit is pretty nice too. The Fujimi needs a little surgery to lower it just a touch but otherwise builds easy and looks great. I have built several of each.
monkeyclaw Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 nice little mini! one of my favorite Tamiya small kits...along with the Fiats.....If you like the small ones; you should definitely build the 12th scale Tamiya mini...it just "falls" together very nicely.......matt Burnett
GeeBee Posted December 22, 2007 Author Posted December 22, 2007 Well today i got the white & black Mini Cooper finished, it's now sitting in the showcase with the red & black one i built earlier
MoparMarc Posted December 22, 2007 Posted December 22, 2007 Man those cars are tiny. Nice job on both of them, they look great.
