I found this in a box of toy cars I bought at a local garage sale for $3.. I need to know the year so I can order parts from The Modelhaus. I know it's a 70 1/2 to 73.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In 1/25 scale, 70-73 Camaro bodies are the same except for small badging. That is an RS (as opposed to a standard) and the interior (if it is the original) would probably provide more info as to the year it was supposed to represent. Looks like it has high back buckets, that would make it a later year car.

Yes 70 1/2 Camaros had low back bucket seats so it has to be a 71 to 73 . There was very little differences in the interiors, the most noteable changes were in the front grills of standard and SS cars RS ,which this model represents had same grill I believe ,someone may need to verify this.

The '70-1/2 promo was made by AMT, and has vinyl roof detail and low-back bucket seats with headrests. It also has the single, full-width front bumper. '71 through '73 were made by MPC. '73 promo was a Rally Sport 350 (kit was a Z/28 with oversize front fender emblems). By process of elimination, you're down to '71 or '72, and I don't think there is any difference between those two except the date on the license plate...

Ok. Question? Was the amt promo the only standard bumper 70 to 73 camaro made by mpc or amt with full vinyl top. I have a glue bomb I'm trying to identify. Thanks.

As far as I know the full roof vinyl top is a promo only thing all the kits I have ever seen are just the painted roof style.

The AMT '70-1/2 Camaro promo and kit have vinyl roof detail molded as part of the body. AMT did not re-box the Camaro kit for '71, they sold it in the same box two years straight (they did this with their Corvettes also). AMT's Camaro had the full-width bumper, non-Rally Sport front end.

MPC's '70-1/2 Camaro kit (no promo) also had the full-width bumper, but did not have vinyl roof detail. For '71, MPC altered their Camaro to the RS front end with the split bumper.

On promos sometimes they have the year on the bridges for the glass...might check it for one.

I found the year on the bridge and it's a 72. Thank you everybody for your help.
