  1. 1. These are the choices I have in mind...

    • A ramp style racers wedge based on a Dodge Deora
      1
    • A rollback based on the Dodge Deora, kit bashed with a Dodge L700
      2
    • A Racer's wedge based on the L700 chassis with some custom modifications
      6
    • A rollback based on a customized Dodge L700
      1
    • A completely custom designed Roll back of my own design.

Ok, I've got it in my mind that I would like to build a custom car hauler to carry around street rod models etc. I want it to be kind of radical, but at the same time believable. now let's say that the car the car carrier is going to carry wieghs around 2500lbs you wouldn't nessesarily need a full on super duty truck frame would you? I'm thinking of doing either;

a. A ramp style racers wedge based on a Dodge Deora

b. A rollback based on the Dodge Deora, kit bashed with a Dodge L700

c. A Racer's wedge based on the L700 chassis with some custom modifications

d. A rollback based on a customized Dodge L700

e. A completely custom designed Roll back of my own design.

f. other.

I'm really torn as to which direction to go with this. any feed back would help even if it is completely different than the options I've listed here.

Just as another idea, how about that AMT Dodge Lil Red truck, but sliced down, customized and painted to match your Barely 'Cuda?

I like the Racer's Wedge combined with the L-700 too...

The Mercedes high speed transport had a 300 sedan chassis with a 300 SL engine in it. It could haul a racecar at 100 mph+. I believe Mercedes used it to haul cars back to the factory for service from the races on Saturdays after practice and qualifying to get them ready for the race and hauled them back on Sunday.

Someone in California built a 1-1 hauler inspired by the Mercedes. They used a Chevy motor and an El Camino cab hung out front. How about a Cuda cab with foreshortened nose or a high speed transport based on the new Chrysler 300 or Dodge Charger. I think that would be sufficiently "Cab Forward"!!

Kind of radical.....you?! I cant believe that. Seriesouly though, it sounds like you have some ideas and I am sure you can figure something out. This is not mine, I got it off another board and don't who did it, but this looks kind of something like would come up with, only cooler. Obviously you wouldn't need the tandem axels, but just an idea.

Hmmm...That mercedes really has me thinking. Long low fast. Perhaps I should shift my thinking a bit and have a what if;...

What if I were design the world's fastest car transporter. Does anybody have any ideas what it would take for a car hauler hit 200 MPH equipment or horsepower wise?
