Monty Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 I'm going to be doing a factory stock build on my 440 and I wanted to see how the Mopar experts are doing theirs. Some things, like the tan distributor cap, are obvious, but I'm always trying to be as accurate as possible & I'm not sure how to do the pan that goes under the intake manifiold. Am I right in thinking it looks too thick?
Casey Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 I'm not sure how to do the pan that goes under the intake manifiold. Am I right in thinking it looks too thick? Yes. The real valley pan is very thin, and held down on each end by a bar (for lack of a better word), so thin the edges to at least trick the eyes. IIRC they way the valley pan, engine block, and cylinder heads on the Revell 440 fit together is a bit wonky, and you need to assemble the heads and valley pan at the same time to ensure they all align correctly.
