DrKerry Posted October 26, 2013 Author Posted October 26, 2013 Thanks Tommy, the air tubes will come out of the opening in the top of the blower and go up to the intake runners. I'm thinking of modifying the stock Viper intake. Not sure yet though....
Shardik Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 That blower setup looks potent! Your doing some very nice work here, Doc. From an aesthetic standpoint, the front end looks almost as if it's bent upward. I suppose this could be a visual anomaly caused by the different colored plastic on top of the fenders or the absence of the windshield. I agree that the side pipes would be awkward with the viper exhaust, plus, they just don't seem to fit the character of the build. Maybe some ground effect skirts would serve for the visual lowering. (Boy, I'm sure in "opinionated mode" today )
DrKerry Posted October 27, 2013 Author Posted October 27, 2013 Thanks Ira!!! Hey Johann, the fenders do have the look but they are level with the body. The glass I'm hoping will add a bit more weight to the visual look when it gets in there. I thought of also hanging the sidepipes from a Cobra off the side but not sure I want the exhaust hanging on the side of this thing. I also looked at sectioning the nose to allow it to drop lower, there for I wouldn't have to drop the body sides down. That would allow the whole car to be dropped and it would be where I want it to ride....
DrKerry Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 Got some Apoxie Sculpt thrown on it and waiting to sand it....
DrKerry Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 Thanks!!! It's taking on a different look now...
o-man Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Thanks!!! It's taking on a different look now... Tease!
DrKerry Posted December 15, 2013 Author Posted December 15, 2013 Not much to look at yet...... but ok,,,
bobthehobbyguy Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 (edited) Really like this project. I think that before u add sidepipes you get the bodied primed to see how they will fit in with the design. bobthehobbyguy Edited December 16, 2013 by bobthehobbyguy
DrKerry Posted December 16, 2013 Author Posted December 16, 2013 Already thought that Bobby, I'm not sure they're gonna mesh with the design that's why I haven't cut holes for them in the front fenders yet. I may not put them on...... Thanks for the idea!!!
Mike Kucaba Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 This is one wild ride Kerry!! It's also nice to see someone else using that kind of putty.
DrKerry Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 Thanks Mike, I tell ya I love this Apoxie Sculpt. Makes me wonder why I've been using regular ol body filler all these years??!!!??!!
crazyrichard Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 that is awsome !! love the lines / looks ..i would suggest not to do any stuff on the bottom side , like the viper side exhaust or anything like a side skirt idea ..imo it looks fine like this at the bottom !!
DrKerry Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 I don't think side pipes are going on it... thanks for the kind words on it...
GerN Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I like your design, especially how it all fits together. Agree with your decisions so far. Love to see full customs on the forum. I've never tried Apoxie Sculpt, never even seen it in a store. Have you ever tried Loctite repair putty (general purpose, 5 min)? Wondering how it would compare. I started using it recently and can recommend it. It comes in a dark blue cylinder of putty with a white center - just cut off a piece, no measuring. Doesn't stick to wetted fingers but does adhere well to paint and styrene; hardens quickly so you can't mix up more than you can use in a few minutes. When hard (probably more like ten minutes plus if you've used any water with it), its easy to work and reasonably strong. Use alcohol for easy clean-up.
DrKerry Posted December 22, 2013 Author Posted December 22, 2013 Thanks for the kudos Gerald. Apoxie works pretty nice. I don't know if I'll use body filler again for awhile...
DrKerry Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 Still around Bob, it got shelved for awhile due to other commitments....
rsxse240 Posted September 27, 2014 Posted September 27, 2014 this thing looks crazy. The combination of bodies definitely grabs the style of the time. I agree that the side pipes stay away.
DrKerry Posted September 27, 2014 Author Posted September 27, 2014 I'm hoping so Jake!!!! I agree Ken, the sides may get worked a bit but the pipes are staying away!!!!
