Pete L. Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 Great job...really captures the feel of the era !!!
gasser59 Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 (edited) Thanks Pete. That is the impact I was going for so I'm glad you think it worked. Got the headlight covers and the taillight pieces painted and inserted. This morning, I cut out a dark grey sheet of fine sandpaper for the base cover and marked where to put the mounting wires around the axles. Just a few minor tasks to get done before mounting to the base of the display case. Getting really close to being done. Thanks for following along and comments welcome. gasser59 Posted December 19, 2013 Author Posted December 19, 2013 Thanks for the kind words John. This has been fun and what I thought i could finish in two weeks hasn't quite panned out as planned.
james460 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Thanks for the offer on the decals. I have half a dozen different sets from different maker for the 21 63 Daytona winner. Hopefully I can mix and match and get what I want. I have an old JnJ set that has the taped over Panch name with Tiny Lund on it. If they shatter I may take you up on the decal offer. Oh The car looks great with the head and tail light covers.
gasser59 Posted December 21, 2013 Author Posted December 21, 2013 I'm counting this one done and I'll be putting finished pictures up in "Under Glass." Thanks for following along.
Old Buckaroo Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 What a great job on this build. The old "stockers" had so much more character then the cars of today.
