I've been wanting a large® scale A-Body for absolutely years !

The possibilities are virtually endless ; each model year could be built off the base shell .

Looking forward to seeing more ! B)

I am working up a decent(I hope) chassis right now........should have something by next week that has some semblance to the right one. it was a challenge to find pictures of the car upside down.... :P will post more later,,,,,,i do need some tires and a rear end for this,,,,I am thinking a newer Challenger will come close.....

Thank you for the comments.....suggestions welcome too........

John....that is the reason I have not cut in the taillights,,,since that is the real difference between the duster and demon of different years,,,,,the grill opening is the same for all the A bodies..........I have done some work on roughing out a chassis for this....i will be working on some body adjustments and clean up,,,,,, I may end up making a whole new body and chassis for casting. I am not sure yet. We will see how the adjustment work out. :):):):):):)

I keep tweaking it and improving it but am still concerned that the side panels do not have enough definition and need to be redone....I am also not totally sold on the grill area. I am pondering the possibility of redoing the body and making it more defined,,,,,,comments are welcome.

If I end up casting it I do want it looking as good as possible. It is better to spend a little more time now than after it is cast....will post more pictures today sometime.

I made up a quick dummy front glass to see how it would set in, Front and rear glass are set from the outside and flush with the body. I corrected the size of the rear glass and some shaping to the roof. The chassis is coming along. The large rear tubs are designed to handle any type of rubber one would want to cram in there with space left over. I started working on the grill but nothing yet to show,,,,,,it is going to be the hardest part unless I can find a charger grill I can rework.,,,,I hope the slide show works for everyone. If not let me know. I ran out of photo-bucket space with my 5 accounts, :P

have not done a lot this week on anything...........................
details for this car
engine is HEMI FROM THE 1973 PETTY car
rear end and frond suspension are from a Firebird kit, they are for the prototype only
seats are from the Dukes charger, since the Dukes car will be getting the interior from the Petty 1973 Plymouth. I might be using more of the Dukes charger on this I am not sure yet.
The tires and wheels are from the Firebird also.......maybe will change to larger wheel from the MPC kits

Just an FYI, that is completely untrue, the fenders, hoods, grilles, front valances , bumpers are completely different. You couldn't replace the fender on a '70 Duster with those of a '71 Demon. The Demon has "fender extensions" that were made of pot metal. This is true of all years of the A-Body construction. Just thought I'd pass that info along .. I'd have to check , but I'm almost positive the core supports have different part numbers as well ... The front ends were completely interchangeable .. but only as a complete swap ..
