Ive forgotten who this was.

I have wanted to build a replica of this for years! I do have two MPC Olsonite Eagles and one Tommy Ivo FED stacked up waiting for me to start it!

Now certainly twin (or more) engines LOOK impressive, but did they ever really do very well in a drag race environment? I know on the lake beds where you have miles to build speed the extra HP could be used but somehow I always got the impression that the weight combined with the loss of power in transmission to the wheels, negated any real gain in moveability for lack of a better word...the ability to get off the line and down a quarter mile quickly. Frankly thinking back I remember seeing quite a few multi engine cars but most were either exhibition vehicles or just didn't place very well in the qualifying.

The Ken's Automotive's "Odd Couple" Top Gas dragster with the SBC and Hemi that was posted earlier won the Top Gas class at NHRA Winternationals the last year the class was run (1971, IIRC) The "Freight Train" twin engine Top Gas dragster was highly successful and probably the best-known twin engine dragster of all time. The twin engine dragsters were more successful (dominant, really) running in the lower "Top Gas" class, but did not find much success in the top-level "Top Fuel" class after Top Gas was discontinued. Probably why they're not as well-known, they were never as sucessful at the highest level of drag racing.

I have never sen the one in post 66 with "Twin Mill" on the side, but I sure like it

That is a car that Mattel had made to replicate the Twin Mill toy they made. It toured car shows a few years ago. I saw it in Milwaukee.
