_TRF_ Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 (edited) This is my 1/24 RC-car version of a VW Karmann Ghia built as racing version 'John Player Special'. It's a Tamiya kit combined with a modified Kyosho MiniZ MR015 chassis. For better look and better fit on the chassis, i widened the fenders with putty. The car is in use and will be raced on my Kyosho hometrack system against it's contrahents like Alfa Romeo's, Ford Escorts and BMW2002. widened fenders Hope you like it Edited November 9, 2013 by _TRF_
Jordan 191 Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Wow it looks great as a racecar. Good livery!
_TRF_ Posted November 9, 2013 Author Posted November 9, 2013 Thanks, does anybody know, if the Karmann Ghia exits as race car?
simonr Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Great build!...a question, where you got the 1/24 BMW you will race this one against to? Simón P. Rivera Torres
_TRF_ Posted November 9, 2013 Author Posted November 9, 2013 The BMW is from my Resine mould. Yes it's 1/24 and will be raced, too.
mnwildpunk Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Not to sure exactly when but it was around the mid 1990's I saw a ghia racing around brainerd international raceway in MN. It was a vintage road race so yes the car was raced all be it privately. Sadly I don't have any pix I do remember it was a redish orange with black numbering
