Ira
TIE X-WING INTERCEPTOR! I started this one with parts left over from my Jedi Tie Wing Racer. These parts are mostly from the X-Wing Fighter and the Tie Interceptor. I cut off the Snap-Fix Posts, so these need to be glued together now. More Coming... Ira
STARFURY! The Tie X-Wing was inspired by the Starfury from Babylon 5. I started with the X-Wings. Next I cut out the Center Section of each Wing. I am going to Reverse the Wings so the Engines are on the Outsides of the Wings. Here are the Center Wing Sections fit together. They will support the New Reversed Wings after they are mounted. More Coming...
Ira
WINGS REVERSED! I glued the X-Wing Armature inside the X-Wing Body. The X-Wings will be reversed and fixed in place. I cut the Guns off all of the Wings. I'm going to add a 1/4" plastic strip to the back of each wing so that I can change the shape of the Wings. Here are the Wings with the strips glued in place with Zap-A-Gap CA Glue. More Coming...
Ira
WING FRONTS! I decided to add a strip of plastic to the fronts of the Wings so that I can change the Wings shape. I marked the shape on the strips before gluing them in place. I cut along the marked lines with a cut-off wheel. I did a little filing and sanding before gluing the strips in place. Here is a finished strip in place. More Coming...

Ira
BIG MEATY ENGINES! The underside detail of the X-Wing Engines doesn't seem right. The Engine Detail looks too small. I am going to replace the kit parts with nice Big Engine Halves taken from the Extra Parts Box. Here is what the Engine Half looks like after trimming. Here is what the Big Engine Halves look like in place... I also cut pieces of plastic tube to fit in as shown. More Coming...
Ira
LITTLE OFF THE END PLEASE... I decided to remove the excess plastic from the Wing Ends before I add anymore Hardware to them. I marked the area to be removed. A cut-off wheel was used to remove the excess. Here it is cleaned up a bit. More Coming...
Ira
MORE WINGS! I cut out 2 new wings from more extra X-Wings. I glued an "L" shaped plastic strip on one side of each Wing. This made attaching the Wings easier. Next I sanded down all of the sharp edges and rounded them off. Then I glued the rear end from the Tie Wing on the back of the X-Wing Body. More Coming... Ira
SUPERCHARGERS! I decided to add More Power to the Engines. I glued 8 bottom pieces of the X-Wing Guns together to make 4 Superchargers. Then I drilled and reamed out one end of each piece, large enough to fit the chrome end of a Gel Pen. Then I cut the ends off. Next I slipped more Pen Ends over the Cut Ends of the Superchargers. Here is the Supercharger mock-up. More Coming...
