jaydar Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 It has dried painted and now I have soaked the paint off but the embossing powder is still there virtually intact after a day in the purple bath. I used Weldbond white glue not Elmers. It is rubbery in part and rock hard in other areas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is currently soaking in plain water. joe.
randx0 Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 I feel your pain, I'm now curious too . Sorry I don't have any ideas at the moment.
JunkPile Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 91% isopropyl alcohol would be my next attempt. Good luck
Mike Kucaba Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 At the Weldbond site (I googled it) it states that it is water soluble, but not waterproof. Soaking it in water may eventually release it. There is also a warning about using it with concern about hot liquids. Maybe try some hot water?

Or scrape enough that the surface is broken, sort of like they do to remove wall paper. Then resume your soaking. Warm, but not hot water might help, next I'd try the isopropyl alcohol. I always try to start with the mildest and work up as necessary. The 91% alchohol substantially removed it. I really can't tell if it dissolved the glue or it dissolved the tamiya gray primer underneath. Regardless i appear to now have about 90% of the focking removed. Thanks. Joe.
High octane Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 That's good news Joe as I was about to suggest using M-80's to remove the flocking.
