Kennyboy Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 I've been busy on this trying to get it ready to debut at the Milwaukee Miniatures show this Sunday...... Wheels are Pegasus 23" sleeves with Audi R8 centers......brakes are 911 GT2. Pre-paint shots-
Kennyboy Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 You are one sick puppy, ya know it......... Guilty as charged! See how it would almost look better as a convertible speedster? I'll still paint the top, but I think it would look better without it.
DrKerry Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 It'd look good either way!!!! Now get painting!!!!!!
slusher Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Ken, that's one sweet model. l like how it sits but its your call. Great body work...
patami Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Oh sweet lord what a talent 1:1 carworld has lost in kennyboy. Thats awesome lines in that build man.
Kennyboy Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Ken, that's one sweet model. l like how it sits but its your call. Great body work... Thanks Carl, as you can tell I am kind of torn......I think it will just be considered as a removable hardtop. Oh sweet lord what a talent 1:1 carworld has lost in kennyboy. Thats awesome lines in that build man. Thanks Patrik! When I looked at the parts before the build, I thought hmmm "This would make sense......"
Armornv Posted December 4, 2013 Posted December 4, 2013 Wow.... love the way the skyline rear panel fits with the overall look! Nice work!
Kennyboy Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 (edited) Wow.... love the way the skyline rear panel fits with the overall look! Nice work! Thanks Clint! I had to section out about 3-4 mm of the height of it but in the end I think it is a good fit too, I am also running the GTR rear exhaust section on this as well. Edited December 4, 2013 by Kennyboy
Kennyboy Posted December 4, 2013 Author Posted December 4, 2013 Is it painted yet!!!!?????? Nope not yet......probably tomorrow. Needs one more coat of primer tonight. Been working on the other details: The interior (two tone), the chassis (almost done), the exhaust (a BIG headache!), the front mount intercooler (quite large)
BluePopsicle Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 OMG Ken I love watching your builds! I wish I had a fraction of your talent. This thing looks amazing and I can't wait to see it in paint.
DrKerry Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 What????!!!!! Tomorrow????? Man, that's it..... yer slackin'!!!!!!
Kennyboy Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 What????!!!!! Tomorrow????? Man, that's it..... yer slackin'!!!!!! Hee Hee, wait till you see the interior.....not slackin' OMG Ken I love watching your builds! I wish I had a fraction of your talent. This thing looks amazing and I can't wait to see it in paint. Thanks again Jon. Think I'm gonna do a Kandy Tangerine on this instead of the raspberry......probably.
MikeyB08 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 I would say that this build looks good, but I would be lying... It's KILLER!! Excited to see the end result of this.
Kennyboy Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 I would say that this build looks good, but I would be lying... It's KILLER!! Excited to see the end result of this. Thanks a ton James! I will post up pics of the interior and chassis tomorrow when I have more light.
DrKerry Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Hey...wake up and show some pics already!!!! LMBO, can't wait!!!!!
Kennyboy Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 Here are some update pics of the interior/chassis.........wanted to try out stitching on this model so the gray leather got stitching (these pics are close up so you can imagine what it looks like at 1/24 scale.) No gauges, think electro-luminescent! The exhaust was a major pain to get lined up.....the center pipe is solder. The skid plates are from the GTR and cut to fit around the front suspension (the Revell logo will be covered when I put this together so it is a non-issue.)
Kennyboy Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 Thanks Kerry! The intercooler was not good enough before so I added clamps to the hoses......
freakshow12 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Could you quickly show me how you made the clamps? My super bee needs 4
Kennyboy Posted December 5, 2013 Author Posted December 5, 2013 Could you quickly show me how you made the clamps? My super bee needs 4 Used Bare metal foil cut into thin strips......the top part of the clamp is made from small gauge solid wire cut into short pieces and CA glued on.
freakshow12 Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Excellent. That was the direction I was headed. I will give it a try. Thanks. And great work
