I find it a little disrespectful to start honoring a man by building the same vehicle he died in, not cool.

I was thinking the same thing, but didn't want to say anything.

Isnt is the same thing as a memorial statue? Don't get me wrong no disrespect intended at all!

But i do respect both of your opinions, and am glad your not keeping it to yourselfs!

Any of the cars he drove in the FnF movies would make a much more proper tribute, than a car he perished in.

Now that I think about it, that's a good way to look at it. I guess I was thinking more along the lines of the fact that he died riding in the kind of car he loved and it would be a sort of memorial to Paul, Roger, and the car. I think I will be sticking more to my other plan of building his personal 67 Nova.

Not just models, but real 1:1 replicas of the "Little Bastard" are also quite popular ;)

Like I wrote before... I wonder how long before red Carrera GT owners start blacking out the wheels on their cars...

Disrespectful to me would be building a replica of the crashed car.

Now anyone doing that should be automatically banned for life and info forwarded to all other known model car forums. That would be just plain dirty IMHO.

I agree completely. Everyone has their own way of commemorating someone they loved, admired, or cared for. Paul Walker was one of those people to a lot of us.

I will def. be watching this build and I too will be participating in the Fast & The Furious Community Build. If it's okay, I would like to post my progress if permitted. I will be building the 1970 Chevelle from Fast & Furious when Brian and Dom where racing for a spot on Braga's Team. I will be building Brians Skyline shortly after to set them in a display side by side, as they rightfully should. I won't start building though until after Christmas so it will be a while. Got a lot of research done, but plenty more to do.

Still can't believe he's gone. I'm one of those that doesn't say much when an actor/actress passes. But this one really hit a spot I'm not use too. Sorry for my little "let loose" there. lol

I don't realy follow anymore, Do you think I should build it or don't you? Or did I just misred your comment?

Tom, we are talking about if someone were dirty enough to build a crashed version. Sorry about the confusion.

And Today I Painted the body

gt002_zpse874364b.jpg
The Chassis was already decalled so i Cleard that aswell
gt003_zps635a73a1.jpg
Their will be a Video of the Body being painted, I'll Post a link ASAP
I also have a side not for the Carbon Fiber decals and the PE set.
The Decals are fantastic ScaleMotorsports quality as usual, But the tempolates they made SUCK. They made a 4 piece set for the chassis, Every single one of those were to big. And with 4 pieces i could not cover the whole chassis, I ended up making 26 Extra peices myself.
The PE Looks supurb, The fit is reaseneble. But its way to exspensive for what you get, Your not going to use everything, because most of the parts are to much work to add to the model and they don't even look right.

This looks great. Is the Carrerat GT engine full detail? Was kinda dissapointed at the McLaren SLR.

Also, would love to see an turorial on the carbon decals.

Tom, I am curious about a couple of things, after watching your video on priming and painting the chassis plate. The airbrush that you are using appears to be a Harder and Steenbeck model. If so, which model / nozzle size, and what do you think of it? The other question is in regards to your airbrushing technique. It looks like you rapidly go on and off the paint with your finger quickly moving forward and back. Did you develop this method? Is there an advantage to this rather than a constant pull back on the trigger? I am always on the the lookout for new airbrushing techniques. I watched your video on painting the dark green '32 Ford. Superb! I wish we could get Zero Paints here in Canada. Thanks in advance. And, sorry for all the questions.

The Carrera GT Kit has a Full engine, The SLR indeed has only half(maybe that is overrated to)

I have been wanting to do a Carbonfiber decal tuturiol for a while now, But I'm still figuring out how i am going to film it.

Looking good. I have this kit but won't build it

Why not whats holding you back?

You are correctt about the brand, Its a 2 in 1 Evo with a 0,2 and 0,4 set up i switch between. I love it, If i somehow wreck this one ill get a new one thats how much i love it. It simple and you can mod it with a lot of different parts available from the dealers.

About the Trigger finger, I do this because if i don't the paint buildup on the edges will be way bigger than the rest of the surface, If you look at a car painter he uses the same technique, This is also a lot more paint efficiant. This helps prefent runs.

Sadly enough the paint is indeed only available in europe, But in the US and around their you have scalefinishers, Ive heard a lot of good things about them aswell. Don't worry about asking questions, Happy to help!

Thank you for your reply. I have visited the Harder and Steenbeck website a couple of times. All of their products appear to be of amazing quality. We only have one Harder and Steenbeck distributor/seller in Canada. I will get in touch with them. I will also try your airbrushing technique on the 458 Italia that I have just started. Canada is a no-mans-land for paint. We cannot get Scale Finishes here either, as they no longer ship by surface mail. I guess that I will just have to continue decanting Tamiya spray cans. LOL I really enjoy your Youtube channel. Again many thanks.
