Kyle Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 (edited) Here is my latest completed build. It's AMT's '32 Ford Phaeton. The engine is a 389 Pontiac with 6 strombergs, an aluminum magneto that I machined, solder headers and machined pulleys. I scratchbuilt the floor and interior panels out of wood. It is still waiting for a grille that is on order and I have a moon style tank with a brass cap that I made for it. Thanks for looking. I hope this works...kinda new at the photo thing. Here is a wheel that I am working on for my next build. I machined the hub cap and the trim ring on my lathe. Not really sure how the pictures got all pixelated....I'll try to post some better ones later Edited November 23, 2007 by Kyle
dub Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Pics no worky... Its a shame, too. I really want to see them, it sure sounds cool! I happen to have one in progress right now so I'd like to see others. We had a photo posting tutorial pinned at the top of the General section, but it seems to have disappeared. I wonder what happened..... :)
Kyle Posted November 23, 2007 Author Posted November 23, 2007 Hmm...the pics come up for me. I'll try again. Ok that should work, I resized the photos and followed the tutorial using photobucket. I tried it two different ways. Let me know if they come up.
dub Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 That worked! Looks cool... Not too far from where mine's going! You gave me a couple ideas for the dash. Seeing black for the seats makes me want to use another color.... Too dark..... I just need to keep it dirty!
Kyle Posted November 23, 2007 Author Posted November 23, 2007 Thanks, did the ones from the first post show up too? I was going to use a mexican blanket for at least one of the seats, but I couldn't find a good pattern online that i liked. For the dash I just drilled out the guages. Looking at it now, I think it would be cool to have some wires coming out of the guage panel.
dub Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Yeah, I can see all of them except for the second one. It wasn't just at home for me either; I couldn't see them here at work first thing today. Whatever you did worked.
bigphoto Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Looks very good, although the pics are kinda dark maybe a flash would help or an overhead light.
geetee66 Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 I like this a lot! I recently built one of these, so it's very interesting to see what other versions turn out like. It's full of very nice touches What grille are you getting for it?
Kyle Posted November 30, 2007 Author Posted November 30, 2007 Thanks for the comments I'm getting a 32' ford grille with a 6" chop from Model Car Garage. It will hopefully be here today or early next week.
