tony_rigter Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 was just at a local hobby shop in Ottawa and picked up the street burner edition 86 monte carlo by revell. I am just kinda struggling with color choice. in the picture it is a metallic blue with silver decals and I don't really like it. I was thinking a matte black base with either chrome or gold accents. what does everyone think?
tooltas Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 black on black gloss black flat black accents
slusher Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I use a matalic like on the box art. Krylon semi gloss black or the flat black are great blacks to use...
o-man Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I like the matte idea. Would say chrome over the gold.
tony_rigter Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 hey everyone. thanks for all the input on the color selection. I was out looking for a matte black paint and I came across a matte hunter green and had to pick it up. I put the coats on the body and it turned out gorgeous. I also started with the gloss black details in the motor boy. what does everyone think? I will be updating this thread with more pictures as it progresses. thanks for checking out my build
espo Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Looks great. Are you going to use the kits SS striping ? The 1:1 cars usually had the striping match the interior. Or just use the SS decals and leave off the "circus" strips on the side. If you use the decals remember your going over a dull finish and the decal outline may show.
