Been at this hobby on and off for getting close to 40 years now. I have a pretty good sized collection of old and newer kits, and every so often I get one out and tinker with it for a while. With the introduction of the `57 Ford Custom model last year, I have begun buying again, stocking up on my favorite car ever built. It's the first time since my early Mustang days that I have been able to buy a model of a car I currently own. Anyway, now, I have bought up enough to do most of my favorite Custom/Custom 300 cars, including my last one, my current one, and several of my friends cars. Aside from the Custom kits, I had already collected a large number of the old AMT Fairlane kits, and had started on a few of them. I have several older friends who raced in the Jr Stock classes back in the late 60s early 70s, and a couple of them still race. I have a couple of their cars on the bench right now, more on that later. I am still learning some of the stuff a lot of you guys probably are expert at, the chrome foil still gives me fits on these old Fords, as there was a lot of chrome on them. I keep at it, hopefully, I will get better at it. I am pretty happy with my decals though. I have been using Photoshop for years, and can use it pretty well. I have been making my own decals for a while, though I still don't have one of those cool printers that can print white ink. That's on my wish list. Most of my models are of 60s to 80s race cars, as that is what I am most interested in. If othing else. I hope that some of my stuff will inspire others to build replicas of cars from the greatest period in drag racing history.
