This is the AMT Nostalgic covertible. Up front I sloped the head light buckets, set back grill and bumper. These will be filled and smoothed out. I pie sectioned the body by 6 scale inch. back to zero in front. Removed tail light side fins, I'm not sure yet, but I think I'm going to make my own tail lights, kinda like a newer style caddy, tall and skinny. I'm not a toppless kind of guy and I wanted something different, so I grafted a 69 GTO roof on.

The more I look at this one, the more I like the look. With the shape of the body being smaller in the rear, and tapering up in the front, the roof follows the the same shape. This will probably look even better when painted!!! What roof did you use on it?

OH NOOOOO! I already cut it off and started over............

Not really, I agree though. I did all the diferent ways at mock up. This way really does look the best. It is the roof off of a GTO SuperStocker (AMT) kit.

The rims are from Hoppin' Hydro's Slim 20's, #526 Vortex with Pegasus disc brakes #1095. And with the body mods the just do fit. Lots of modification to the interior tub to make'em work.

Not sure about colors yet, I want to get the fab work done and then decide. Must be dark, maybe two tone. Any thoughts?

Comments welcome?....you want a comment?...I'll give you a comment.....I love it. I would never have thought of the GTO roof, but it looks nice, sittin' down low. I also like the idea of the tall narrow tail lights. Keep it going, I think you are on to something sharp here. Dark color or light, it will look nice, even if you did a satin finish, it would look good.
